(CAMBY, Ind.) – The Madison Township Fire Department in Morgan County responded to a water rescue on Wednesday.
They were called after a driver became stranded in their vehicle during the floods. That driver was able to exit the vehicle and return to land without firefighter assistance.
While firefighters were getting ready to leave the scene, they heard a baby deer being carried downstream in the rapidly rising water.
Madison Township Fire Captain Joe Sinclair jumped in the water and rescued the deer.
Medics on scene provided aid until the deer could be transferred to a local animal rescue.
