Congresswoman Houchin reacts after re-election win

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Congresswoman Erin Houchin is reacting after being re-elected to U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday night.

Rep. Houchin defeated democrat challenger Brad Meyer by approximately 10 points.

She described it as an honor to represent the region in Washington and said she is deeply grateful for the trust placed in her.

“Tonight, I am thinking about the families, farmers, small-business owners, veterans, and citizens across Southern Indiana who inspire my service. Every conversation, every handshake, and every vote is a reminder of why I entered public service: to fight for the people of Indiana,” Rep. Houchin said.

She added, “I do not take this responsibility lightly. I will continue working to hold government accountable, lower the cost of healthcare, secure our elections, strengthen our communities, and make sure Washington works for Hoosiers."

Rep. Houchin will be returning to the House that will now be controlled by the Democrats.
