Former Batesville football standout is conference sacks leader

(FORT WAYNE, Ind.) – A former Batesville football standout is leading his conference in sacks.

Bobby Weiler was an All-State and All-EIAC defensive player for the Bulldogs before graduating in 2024. 

He is now a defensive tackle for the University of St. Francis. 

Weiler had two sacks this past weekend to bring his season total to 6.5 which leads the Mid-States Football Association. 

His performance this past weekend helped St. Francis beat Defiance 45-14 to improve to 7-2.
