(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The Dearborn Community Foundation (DCF) is showing its support for local police and their annual Christmas initiative.
The Fraternal Order of Police organizes the Cops & Kids Christmas gift program every year.
The program gave 246 children the opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts at the Aurora Walmart earlier this month. There was a total of $34,000 spent during the program.
DCF board member Dave Lusby chose the FOP Cops & Kids program for a $1,000 grant. The grant is part of an annual initiative where each board member selects an organization of their choice.
“It's great to see kids in need get to celebrate Christmas. We're very fortunate to live in a community that supports programs like Cops & Kids that make a difference in people’s lives,” said Lusby.
Lusby is a former law enforcement officer and Dearborn County Sheriff.
