DCMH's new EMS Manager brings unique background to the job

Served on Lifeline, offshore oil rig

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Decatur County Memorial Hospital’s new EMS Manager is getting quite the change of scenery from his last position.

Matt Myers previously worked as a paramedic on an offshore oil platform.

His EMS career began in 2003 and he has held numerous positions including phlebotomist, an ER technician, and a paramedic. He also spent six years with Lifeline as a critical care paramedic and supervisor.

Myers will bring those unique experiences to DCMH where he says he’s grateful to take on the leadership role.

“I look forward to strengthening our partnerships with local fire departments—city, county, and volunteer—as well as law enforcement at all levels and neighboring EMS teams. Together, we can support our staff, coordinate more seamlessly, and continue delivering excellent care to the people of Decatur County,” he said.

The hospital added that Myers is passionate about mentoring new staff members as well.

DMCH Director of Outpatient Services Kristol Hadler said Myers’ wide-ranging EMS experience makes him a natural fit for the leadership role.

“He brings a calm, collaborative presence to situations, and I’m excited to support his continued growth as we strengthen our EMS partnerships across the county. His passion for serving others truly reflects the heart of DCMH,” Hadler said.
