(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A mom pursuing her nursing license is hoping to make a difference in the community when it comes to Christmas gifts for kids.
31-year-old Sarah McCauley is a South Ripley graduate who decided to take a risk in life, by quitting her job and going back to school.
She is just four months away from graduating with her license from Beckfield College.
“I love to help people but one of the main reasons I did this is because I always tell my kids that anything is possible. And I want to show them that even at 31, its never too late to follow your dreams,” McCauley said.
McCauley decided to create a unique initiative as part of a leadership project at Beckfield.
She is hoping to raise money that will go toward the purchase of Christmas gifts for less fortunate kids in December.
The money will go toward the annual Angel Tree at Versailles Farm & Garden, which helped more than 100 kids last year.
How To Get Involved:
May 2 - McCauley will have raffle items, including a hotel stay at Rising Star Casino, set up during the grand reopening at Versailles Farm & Garden.
The winners of the raffles will be drawn on May 5.
May 4 - KG Tattoos in Greensburg will offer tattoos at a discount and the majority of proceeds will go toward McCauley’s initiative. It will take place from 12-8 p.m. and KG Tattoos is located at 120 East Washington Street.
