Dearborn Co. Chief Deputy announces Sheriff bid

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The chief deputy of the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department has announced his bid for Sheriff.
Carl Pieczonka joined the department as a jail officer in 2005 and was then hired as a deputy in 2007.
He was promoted to Detective in 2010 where he investigated major crimes including burglary, robbery, homicide, narcotics, and fraud.
“I was also assigned to the Dearborn County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, where I investigated crimes being committed on the internet involving children, encompassing online child enticement, child solicitation, as well as dissemination and production of child pornography,” Pieczonka said.
He has served as Chief Deputy for the past year where he has overseen the day-to-day operations of the sheriff’s office, its employees and the safety and security of inmates.
Pieczonka has received the Excellence in Law Enforcement Award three times during his career.
He currently serves on the Local Emergency Planning Committee, as well as Chairman on the Dearborn County Emergency Management board. He is also the Precinct Committeeman for Miller 7.
Outside of law enforcement, he has been heavily involved in the football program at Sunman Dearborn and East Central for the past 14 years.
He resides in Hidden Valley with his wife, Suzanne, and their son, Carson attends Miami University.
“I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to earn your trust and support in the upcoming Republican primary. I humbly ask for your vote on May 5th, and look forward to the opportunity to serve you as your Sheriff,” he said.
