Decatur Co. natives create Indianapolis Children's Theatre

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Two Decatur County natives have launched the Indianapolis Children’s Theatre.
The newly-established theater was created by North Decatur graduate Luke Lecher and South Decatur graduate Courtney Smallwood.
Lecher and Smallwood attended elementary school together and were reconnected at Marian University where they graduated from in 2011.
They created the theater with the mission of providing high-quality professional performances to families and young audiences.
For Lecher, the Indianapolis Children’s Theatre is more than a new arts organization - it is the realization of a dream.
“Indianapolis Children’s Theatre is about creating a place where children and families can experience the magic of live theatre together - where young people can be inspired, artists can create meaningful work, and the community can feel a true sense of belonging,” Lecher said.

The inaugural season will give children and families the opportunity to experience theatre in an intimate and welcoming environment, they said.
Productions will also be carefully selected to entertain, engage and create lasting memories.
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Their very first performance will be ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ at the District Theatre in downtown Indianapolis from December 5-13.
Tickets are $21-$23 and there are several different show times to choose from.
