(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – A well-known youth sports coach in Lawrenceburg has passed away and his family has a request in his honor.

55-year-old Bob Blaut coached Lawrenceburg Youth basketball for several years.

Coaching was one of many activities he was involved in so he could spend more time with his children.

“He cherished time spent with family and friends and believed in the importance of creating lasting memories together,” his family said.

Bob passed away on Sunday and his loved ones say the best way to honor him is by creating memories with your family as well.

“In lieu of memorial contributions, the family asks that you honor Bob in a way that would have meant the most to him—by spending time with the people you love,” they said.

The family added, “Call your family, get together with friends, take your kids to a game, and make the memories you've been putting off. After all, those moments together are what matter most.”

Bob also had a deep appreciation of his family’s history and loved sharing stories and memories of his parents, grandparents, and other relatives with his children, ensuring that the stories and traditions of past generations would continue to live on.

He is also being remembered for being a talented woodworker who enjoyed remodeling projects and working with his hands.

Bob is survived by his wife, Amy, along with their four children, Samuel, Carter, Ashley and Morgan, and one grandson.

The visitation will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, October 26. Funeral services will immediately follow.
