Decatur County EMA director earns statewide certification

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Decatur County EMA Director Michael Snyder has completed the requirements to earn the Professional Emergency Manager (PEM) Certification.
The certification is awarded by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and signifies advanced competency in emergency planning, disaster response, and community risk reduction.
It requires the completion of 19 virtual classes, 112 hours of classroom instruction, training and exercise experience, and 6 professional contributions to the Emergency Management field of work.
"By completing this rigorous curriculum and meeting the highest standards set by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Michael has not only advanced his own professional expertise but has significantly strengthened our county’s resilience,” said Greensburg Mayor Joshua Marsh.
