Decatur County Lilly Scholarship finalists announced

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Five high school seniors in Decatur County are finalists for the Lilly Scholarship. 

The Decatur County Community Foundation announced North Decatur senior Macy Kinker, South Decatur senior Michael Nobbe and Greensburg seniors Kiera Kennelly, Kirkley Lowe and Alaina Schwering as finalists. 

The recipient will be announced in December and will receive full tuition and a $900 annual book stipend for four years at any Indiana college or university. 

There were 65 students who applied for the Lilly Scholarship and the finalists were chosen after a rigorous process based on community involvement, school activities, academics and work experience.

The process also included an essay, a presentation and interview questions. All applicants remained anonymous throughout each stage of the process.

Scores from all three rounds of evaluations are now sent to the Independent Colleges of Indiana to formally determine a winner.
