(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A new program through the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office aims to help rather than incarcerate.
The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) is a specialized team of trained officers and special deputies who respond to individuals suffering from mental illness, substance use issues or another crisis.
Sheriff Bill Meyerrose welcomed three new members into the team on Monday night.
John Bundick and Tiffani McFarland were sworn-in as CIT Field Deputies during a ceremony at the sheriff’s office.
Debbie Hernandez was also sworn-in as the Sex or Violent Offender Registry Coordinator.
