(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A dedication ceremony will be held for the first Little Souls Cemetery in Ripley County this weekend.
The cemetery has been created for babies who pass away from miscarriage.
“The cemetery provides a place for families to bury their babies lost prior to 20 weeks gestation or a place to memorialize their babies when there are no remains,” said Owen Menchhofer with the Tanglewood Cemetery Association.
It was created after a presentation at the Osgood Lions Club and was funded community donations that were matched by the Tanglewood Baptist Legacy Fund.
Little Souls Cemetery is located at 1739 South County Road 175 West in Versailles.
The dedication ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 2. The public is encouraged to attend the event.
