Will begin serving notices on March 1

(DILLSBORO, Ind.) – The Dillsboro Police Department will be cracking down on broken down vehicles in the community.
Officers will begin serving notices to violators of the Junk Vehicle Ordinance starting on March 1.
“If you are in violation of this Ordinance please rectify it before being given notice,” the department said.
The ordinance makes it unlawful to have disassembled, or inoperable, or unlicensed, or any junked, wrecked or otherwise abandoned vehicle for a period of three or more days on public property, or for a period of 20 or more days on private property, unless it is in connection with an automotive sales or repair business enterprise which operates with proper licensure and in a properly zone area.
The department will serve the notices in-person or by placing a written notice on the vehicle.
You can contact Dillsboro PD at (812) 432-3033 with any questions.
