Donation drive underway for TX family stranded in Southeast Indiana

Family is staying at the Heart House in Aurora

(AURORA, Ind.) – The staff members at Heart House in Aurora are used to working with people who are going through difficult times, but one family in particular has it worse than others.
Heart House staff members are now hoping the community can rally around the family.
A family was traveling from Texas when their car broke down and was towed with all of their children’s belongings inside.
“They had no other choice but to walk for 5 hours on backroads to reach the Heart House. This family walked here in the pouring rain and showed up soaked and hungry,” the facility said.
The family, with four boys, are starting their lives over here in Southeast Indiana.
They are in need of clothing, shoes, hygiene items, backpacks, and school supplies for two of the children who are enrolled in school (one in 3rd grade and one in 1st grade).
Here are their immediate needs:
Boys clothing sizes:
Size 8
Size 7
Size 4T–5T
Size 18–24 months
Boys shoe sizes:
Size 2 (two boys)
Size 10 toddler
Size not yet specified for the youngest
School & Hygiene Needs:
Backpacks
Basic school supplies (for 3rd grade and 1st grade)
Hygiene items for the whole family.
Women's
Large Shirts
Pants- medium strechy or 13-14 jeans
Men's
Shirt Large to XL
Pants 36 jeans or Lare extra large
Items can be dropped off at anytime at the Heart House which is located at 6815 U.S. 50 in Aurora.
“This family is in a difficult situation and is choosing to rebuild here after being stranded. If you are able to help with clothing, shoes, supplies, or hygiene items, it would be such a blessing,” the facility added.
