(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – Donations are being sought for an upcoming fundraiser for a young boy.

1-year-old Jameson McNicholas was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma which is a rare liver cancer that primarily affects young children.

Jameson has undergone several chemotherapy and radiation treatments over the past few months and is currently receiving treatments at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

His mother, Genevieve, is a nurse at the Our Hospice location in North Vernon. She has been forced to take an extended leave of absence to care for her child.

Her coworkers at Our Hospice have organized a fundraiser event to support this family in their time of need.

The benefit will feature a cornhole tournament, silent auction items, and a 50/50 raffle.

Organizers are currently seeking additional donations in order to raise as much money as possible for the McNicholas family.

They are seeking items for the silent auction, as well as monetary donations that will go toward the purchase of items.

Donations can be dropped off at the Our Hospice location which is at 735 N. State Street in North Vernon.

All proceeds from the benefit will support the McNicholas family.

The benefit for Jameson will be held at the AmVets North Vernon beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 4.
