East Central runner wraps up incredible career

(ST. LEON, Ind.) – East Central senior Callie Bentley completed her high school cross country career on Saturday.
She competed in the IHSAA Cross Country State Finals for the fourth consecutive year and finished 82nd overall.
Bentley has had many accomplishments over the past four years. Here is a list:
She is the East Central High School record holder with an 18:07.
She won the EIAC for three straight years.
She won the IHSAA Sectional for three years.
She placed in the top 10 in the Regional each year- qualifying for the State Meet
She qualified for state 4 years and two of those years, she brought a team with her
“Callie did all this while taking advanced classes, being a part of her community and maintaining a social life,” said East Central coach Fr. Jonathan Meyer. Callie’s participation in the State Meet this past Saturday was a dream. Most girls would like to be there once, Callie had raced on this course 11 times in her career.”
Bentley has committed to run cross country at Butler University.
