An East Central graduate who has visited more than 60 countries will be hosting a virtual cooking class for a good cause!
Nykarlis Santos Nunez (Nyki) is a native of the Dominican Republic and moved to the U.S. when she was 12-years-old.
She learned English while at East Central and went on to learn several other languages.
Nyki currently resides in the Middle Eastern country of Lebanon. Read more about Nyki by clicking here.
Cooking Class
With her traveling background and strong interest in cooking, Nyki has created an organization called United Plates of the World
She is currently accepting registrations for a virtual cooking class that will take place at 1 p.m. on Sundays in September.
The talented chef will share delicious recipes from Latin American, the Caribbean and the Middle East.
There will also be a special class this week that will raise funds for earthquake survivors in Colombia. That class will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 20.
It’s a donation-based course where 100% of the proceeds are donated by Nyki to local and international NGOs in countries across Latin America, the Caribbean and the Middle East.
All classes will be hosted online through Google Meet which will be arranged following registration.
