Announced his resignation to the players on Monday

(ST. LEON, Ind.) – East Central’s boys soccer coach is stepping down after 22 years of leading the program.
Coach BJ Black had a 82 percent winning percentage and led the Trojans to one IHSAA state runner-up, seven regional championships and 18 sectional championships.
Black informed his players about his decision to step down on Monday.
“I will cherish the memories and the friendships that have come from this experience. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the players, all of my assistant coaches past and present, the parents who have shared their sons and all those that supported the program over the years,” Black said.
Black said his retirement will allow him to watch his two oldest kids play in college and his daughter who is a freshman player for the Trojans.
He added that he plans to still be around the program and watch as many games as possible.
East Central Athletic Director Kevin Moore said, “In an era where coaches come and go, your long-term commitment is seen and felt, and will be missed.”
