Elementary school parents surprise crossing guard with car

(DALLAS, TX.) – A group of parents at a Texas Elementary school recently surprised a beloved employee.

Trecia Crawford is the school crossing guard at Moss Haven Elementary and is a constant presence to the parents and students.

Her car broke down about five months ago and she has been forced to Lyft or even ride the bus to school.

Moss Haven has a parent group called The Dad's Club who meets regularly to support teachers, staff and students.

The group of dads found out about her vehicle troubles and decided to step up.

When Carpool Dads leader, Marcus Walther, found out Ms. Crawford was in need of a car, he rallied support and our Moss Haven family raised enough to purchase her a car,” the school said.

They raised thousands of dollars in just a few days and surprised Ms. Crawford with a white jeep.

The school described the crossing guard as someone who loves the kids, keeps them safe and is a great role model for all.
