Evacuation order issued for West Harrison, Dearborn Co.

(WEST HARRISON, Ind.) -- Mandatory evacuation orders have been issued for several areas along the Whitewater River in Dearborn County on Thursday night.

The areas are: Longnecker, Pinhook, Cranes Run, Barber, Bonnie Lane, Herberts Lane, Cobblestone Court, Stonefields Lane, Loia Creek Lane, or anywhere along the Whitewater River.

Officials say you should evacuate now and a shelter is located at 505 Bielby Road in Lawrenceburg

Also, for those outside of that area but near the Whitewater River, you should also seek higher ground.

The evacuation comes following catastrophic flooding in Franklin County and more rain possible tonight.
