Familiar face returning to Batesville Schools

Sierfert will serve as interim principal at Batesville High School

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A familiar face is returning to Batesville Schools in January. 

On Wednesday, the Batesville School Board approved Mel Siefert as the high school's interim principal beginning in January. 

He will replace Andy Allen who recently accepted the superintendent position at Plainfield Schools.

Siefert is returning from Plainfield where he served as the high school principal for several years. Prior to that, he was the Batesville Middle School principal and also longtime successful varsity basketball coach for the Bulldogs.

He will serve as interim principal for the second semester as Batesville Schools will name a full-time replacement this year.
