Family: Five teens rescued from Whitewater River in West Harrison

(WEST HARRISON, Ind.) – Five local teens are safe after a water rescue on the Whitewater River on Wednesday afternoon.
Crews were dispatched around 4 p.m. to the water rescue near Shelton Fireworks in West Harrison.
The teenagers are from Ripley County and became stuck on the river, a family member told The 812.
“My niece kept passing out when she was stuck to the tree and rescue was trying to get out there to her, and they rescued her and the rest of the people who were with her,” the family member said.
All five teens were rescued and there were no major injuries reported.
There were multiple departments that responded including Harrison Fire and Colerain Township Fire.
