Family who lost home in Helene receives brand new house

Nonprofit group built new fully-furnished home

(IVANHOE, VA.) – A Virginia family who lost nearly everything in Hurricane Helene has received a new home.

The Blair family lost their home after flooding destroyed their Wythe County home in September.

A nonprofit group called God’s Pit Crew not only built the new home but also fully furnished it. The home was built entirely by donations.

It is one of 25 homes that God’s Pit Crew is building for Helene victims in Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee.

“This wouldn't be possible without the incredible efforts of volunteers, donors, and ministry supporters who have poured their time, resources, and hearts into making these dreams a reality,” the group said.

God’s Pit Crew has responded to natural disasters for the past two decades with the mission of being one of the most effective relief organizations in the country.
