Feasibility study underway for proposed aquatic center in Batesville

Expected to take upwards of six months

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A group hoping to bring an aquatics center to Batesville is continuing their research into the project.

Citizens Aquatic Center (CAC) purchased an 18-acre parcel of land just east of Batesville Primary School last month.

The nonprofit has hired a company to conduct a feasibility study and market analysis. Once completed, there will be a comprehensive planning session with CAC's Board of Directors and members.

"This session will focus on defining success criteria and refining the vision and other success metrics for the Board. The session is scheduled for late February and will serve as the catalyst for the detailed financial forecast," said CAC member Gregory McMullen.

They are in the second of six phases of the study that will also conduct research to generate a comprehensive 5-year cash flow forecast and a 20-year financial outlook.

“The forecast will encompass detailed financial projections, including construction costs, parking recommendations, facility and operating expenses, and other pertinent factors,” he said.

The study will also analyze the economic impact in the area as a result of potential tournaments, meets or other events at the proposed facility.

He anticipates the study to be complete within the next six months. You can learn more about the CAC by clicking here.
