Fun and free competition

(VEVAY, Ind.) – Area fire departments are invited to participate in a unique competition in Vevay on Sunday, August 24.
The annual Water Ball Competition begins at 1 p.m. at the Swiss Wine Festival.
The competition is played by two five-member firefighting teams with the goal of spraying the ball 15 inches across the other team's zone.
Tom Dawson is the vice president of the Jeff Craig Fire Department and is organizing the fun event.
He encourages any fire department to get involved and see if they can take home one of the trophies.

“Participants will have to wear bunker gear, but don’t need liners in them, have eye protection, wear a helmet, and gloves are optional,” Dawson said.
There is no cost to participate and attendees are asked to arrive by 12 p.m. Sunday.
Some departments that will be there include Jeff-Craig, Moorefield, Madison Township, Posey and Gallatin County.
