Football Sectional Semifinal preview for this coming weekend

(SOUTHEAST INDIANA) – Several local football teams remain in the hunt for a Sectional Championship this season. 

The majority of our teams won games, or had byes, on Friday. You can see those scores here. 

Here is what is ahead on Friday, October 31:

Class 1A Football

Milan (4-4) will travel to Eastern Greene (2-8) with kickoff currently scheduled for 7 p.m. 

North Decatur (8-2) will host Knightstown (6-4) with kickoff currently scheduled for 7 p.m. 

What’s At Stake: The winner of those two games will meet for a Sectional Championship on November 7. 

It’s possible that we could see a repeat of last year’s Sectional title game between rival schools Milan and North Decatur 

Class 2A Football 

Switzerland County (7-2) will host Clarksville (5-5) with kickoff currently scheduled for 7 p.m. 

What’s At Stake: If the Pacers win, they will face either Brownstown Central or Paoli for a Sectional Championship game on November 7.

Class 3A Football 

The Lawrenceburg Tigers (8-1) had a bye week on Friday and will face the 8-2 Franklin County Wildcats in Brookville. Kick off is currently scheduled for 7 p.m. 

South Dearborn (5-5) will travel to Greensburg (3-7) with kickoff currently scheduled for 7 p.m.

What’s At Stake: The winners of those two games will face off for a Sectional Championship on November 7. 

Class 5A Football

East Central (7-2) will kick off the Sectional tournament by hosting Franklin Central (4-5) with kick off currently set for 7 p.m. 

What’s Next: The winner of that game will face either Columbus East of Whiteland on November 7.
