(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Mike Manus is just the third person to serve as Batesville Police Chief in the past 38 years.
He replaces Stan Holt who retired after 32 years in March. Holt now works in Code Enforcement for the City.
Manus is a Greensburg graduate who spent time playing professional baseball in the Detroit Tigers organization.
“Living and working alongside players from diverse backgrounds and cultures across the globe, Mike gained invaluable perspective. He witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by those navigating new languages, customs, and circumstances, fostering a sense of empathy and an even greater appreciation for his own Indiana upbringing,” the City of Batesville said.
He joined the Batesville Police Department in 2012 and has served roles including School Resource Officer and detective.
