Each scholarship honors a Ripley County resident

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Four scholarships are available through the Ripley County Community Foundation for students interested in pursuing a career in nursing.
The scholarships honor the lives of Doris A. Brelage, Riley Duerstock, Marysue (Luhring) Knisley, and Corinne Lamping.
The Doris A. Brelage Memorial Nursing Scholarship was named after a longtime Director of Nursing, Manager of Surgical Nursing, and Infection Control Practitioner at Margaret Mary Health. Brelage passed away in 2008.
The Riley Duerstock Nursing Scholarship is in honor of a Batesville native who had aspirations to become a flight nurse. Her life was cut short due to a drunk driver in September 2023.
The Marysue (Luhring) Knisley Nursing Scholarship was established in 2023 in honor of Knisley, who built a successful career as a nurse and medical compliance consultant.
The Corinne’s Believers Memorial Scholarship honors Corinne Lamping who had dreams of owning her own hair salon, before her life was tragically cut short due to a car crash in 2012. This scholarship supports driven and talented students attending the Aveda Frederic Institute in Indianapolis.
The application and full eligibility criteria for each scholarship are available on the Ripley County Community Foundation’s website at https://rccfonline.org/scholarships/.
The deadline to submit applications for these scholarships is June 2.
