(OLDENBURG, Ind.) – There will be parking changes during Oldenburg’s Freudenfest on July 17 and 18.
The large grass field across along State Road 229 had traditionally been used for festival parking.
Over the past year, that area known as Maypole Heritage Park has been developed with a walking trail, trees, benches, pickleball courts, and a basketball court.
It will no longer accommodate parking during the festival because of those upgrades.
Additional parking has been added at Margaret Mary Health’s Cancer Center along with expanded shuttle services. The shuttle will operate from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday.
Similar to other years, there will be shuttle service running continually from The Sherman, Comfort Inn and Best Western in Batesville.
“Because parking is limited in the village during Freudenfest, we encourage visitors to use these complimentary shuttle services for a safe, convenient, and stress-free trip to and from the festival,” organizers stated.
