Friendship State Bank opens Bright location

Story written by The 812's Shelley Hoffrogge

(BRIGHT, Ind.) – Since 1912, Friendship State Bank has made it their mission to provide for their community, not just financially, but also through friendships.

From the start, with helping farmers finance their dreams, leading to today, assisting businessmen and local entrepreneurs, Friendship State Bank is supported in their roots.

Opening their ninth location in Bright and holding their grand opening on May 30, Friendship State Bank is now able to serve the community of Bright from the customer's own backyard.

The workers, CEO’s, board members, and leaders do their part in the community outside the four walls of the banking building.

The 812’s Shelley Hoffrogge spoke with Board Member John Rumsey, Marketing Coordinator Hope Tankersly and CEO Chris Meyer during the open house on Friday.

Rumsey serves on the board but is also the former Vice President Loan Officer with over fifty years of experience at Friendship.

Ramsey said, “Over the last 50 years, technology and regulations have changed banking, but giving good customer service and public attention hasn’t changed.”

Friendship State Bank is continuing to put the customers and their needs first.  Bright was seen as an underserved community in the eyes of Friendship State Bank and they took the step to help the community.

President and CEO Chris Meyer mentioned, “It was a massive sense of relief finally having the doors open in a community we’ve been a part of for so long and allowed us to cover the four county area we have wanted for so long.”

Banking is known for financial needs and money, but the Friendship State Bank is known for their welcoming and friendliness from the staff and leadership.
