Suffered stroke 9 days after giving birth to son

(RUSHVILLE, Ind.) – A fundraiser continues for a local nurse and mother of four children.
35-year-old Kim Davis works at Rush Memorial Hospital’s Cancer Center as an oncology nurse navigator.
Davis suffered an extremely rare stroke just 9 days after giving birth to her son.
The stroke was identified as Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST). It affects about 5 people in 1 million each year.
Since the stroke, she has made progress during the recovery. However, functions such as arm mobility, her memory and speech are still impacted.
A Go Fund Me has been launched to help with medical bills as well as upcoming medical necessities such as handicap accessibilities in the home and continued care.
The 812 spoke with Kim a few weeks ago and you can watch by clicking here.
