(AURORA, Ind.) – A fundraiser has been launched for a Dearborn County couple who lost their home in the storms on Thursday.
Lisa Barker and Bobby Hensley’s Aurora home was destroyed when an apparent tornado ripped through their property on East Laughery Creek Road.
The fundraiser organizer says Lisa was trying to make it to the basement when a staircase collapsed on her.
“Through determination and teamwork, Lisa and Bobby were able to free her and survive the storm. While they are incredibly grateful to be alive, the home they built their lives in was completely destroyed,” said organizer Dylan Liddle.
Their home was left in rubble and they lost their clothing, household items and other personal belongings.
“Right now, they are facing the overwhelming task of starting over. We are asking our friends, neighbors, and community to come together and support Lisa and Bobby during this incredibly difficult time,” Liddle said.
