Fundraiser launched for Batesville father who will have open heart surgery

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A Go Fund Me has been launched for a Batesville father who needs open heart surgery. 

31-year-old Austen Maupin has four children who are all under the age of 9.

He had an aneurysm on his heart which has led to the surgery, a family member said.

“Hospital bills are already rolling in and only going to get worse come surgery time! I am starting this to help him and the kids out during his time off,” Kylie Phillips said. 

The family is hoping to receive some assistance as the surgery and recovery will be lengthy and expensive.
