Givaudan to build $215M facility in West Harrison

(WEST HARRISON, Ind.) – A Swiss multinational company has acquired land in West Harrison to build a state-of-the-art liquid production facility. 

Givaudan Taste & Wellbeing is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, and cosmetic ingredients. It's been listed as the world's largest flavors and fragrance manufacturer as recently as last year. 

The West Harrison facility will span approximately 100,000-square-feet and Givaudan is investing $215 million into the project.

It will eventually lead to more than 250 new jobs across diverse skill sets. 

The land acquisition comes after Givaudan had purchased land in Reading, Ohio, however the company cancelled the project due to remediation concerns. 

West Harrison’s site will allow the company to accelerate their build timeline while remaining in the Greater Cincinnati area. 

“This new facility represents our continued investment and long-term confidence in our North American operations. It demonstrates the importance of the market to Givaudan and to the food and beverage industry, while keeping our growth rooted in the Greater Cincinnati regional economy,” said Taste & Wellbeing North American president Mindy Kucks. 

Cedric Koller serves as Taste & Wellbeing Head of Operations and says this site on the Indiana-Ohio border will allow them to move faster and create the next generation of food and beverage experiences. 

“This new facility represents a major boost to our Taste & Wellbeing operational network. By expanding our regional footprint, we are significantly enhancing our liquid production capacity and accelerating speed-to-market,” said Koller.

Givaudan has already announced that they will make an initial donation to Sunman-Dearborn Schools as part of their commitment to community initiatives.

They plan to identify other ways to collaborate with local businesses, schools and community organizations in the future. 

Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026 with partial operations to start in 2028. 

Givaudan Taste & Wellbeing currently operates 17 locations across the United States and Canada.
