Greendale PD recognizes teen for doing the right thing

(GREENDALE, Ind.) – The Greendale Police Department is recognizing a local boy for doing the right thing.

13-year-old Caleb McIntosh was at the Greendale City Park last week when he discovered an envelope that was left unattended.

McIntosh saw that there was a name on the envelope and also realized there was at least $100 inside. 

Caleb decided to go to the police station in hopes it would be returned to the rightful owner. 

“We told him that the envelope and money would remain at the police station until the owner comes in,” said Greensburg police clerk Deanna McAtee. 

The police department recognized the name on the envelope, Jarrett Holderby, as being another teen in the community. 

It turned out that the money was compensation for a job that Jarrett had worked and he had stopped by the park afterward where he accidently left the envelope behind.

When Jarrett heard how the money was turned in, he asked his mom if he could give Caleb a cash reward. The two boys met at the police department late last week.
