(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter is close to a historic achievement.
They are just one adoption away from having their dog kennels empty for the first time ever.
It comes just weeks after their beloved director Minde Meyers passed away.
Following her passing, all the available dogs at the shelter have been sponsored in her memory.
On Saturday, the shelter announced a 1-year-old female mixed-breed dog named Silo is currently the last available adoption. Silo is potty-trained, has lots of energy and is ideal for a home that does not have young children.
“If we can find Silo a Home for the Holidays foster placement, we will have officially cleared our dog kennels for the first time ever,” they said.
If someone is unable to commit to adopting at this time, the dog can also be fostered via their Home For The Holidays program.
The shelter is closed for the weekend but will be back open from 12-4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
