Greensburg firefighters join police department's tactical team

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Greensburg Police and Fire departments are joining forces during intense situations. 

A few firefighters are joining the police department’s Tactical Response Team (TRT) in a specialized medical capacity. 

“These members are current full-time firefighters within the department who have volunteered their time to become Tac Medics,” officials said. 

The firefighters have undergone tactical training, high-stress simulations, and the same physical assessments required of law enforcement TRT members. 

Tac Medics will provide immediate, life-saving medical care in high-risk environments. 

“This ensures that officers, the public, and even suspects have the best chance at survival when every second counts” officials added. 

The firefighters are Greg Beagle, Trent Campbell, Jake Hawkins, and Ethan Ripberger.
