Greensburg's Public Projects Director earns statewide award

"A testament to his dedication, adaptability, and leadership," the mayor said

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The City of Greensburg’s Director of Public Projects has earned a statewide honor. 


Zach Wirrig is receiving the Municipal Staff Vision of Excellence Award from the Indiana Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Partnership.


He has been in the municipal role for about a year and has had to work through some unique complaints and drainage issues. He has also gained a deep understanding of MS4 requirements and compliance, the organization said. 


Wiring also participates in monthly meetings held with the city’s MS4 consultant and has a been a key part of keeping the City in compliance, including looking for ways to improve their facilities and promoting the use of additional construction site erosion control measures.


MS4 Partnership is a nonprofit organization that assists MS4 professionals and entities with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater guidance and compliance.


"Zach Wirrig’s recognition as MS4 Municipal Staff Member of the Year is a testament to his dedication, adaptability, and leadership," said Mayor Joshua Marsh. "In just a short time, he’s made a significant impact on our stormwater compliance efforts and continues to raise the bar for public service in Greensburg. We’re proud to have him on our team.”
