Greensburg woman thriving after overcoming addiction

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Decatur County woman is continuing to thrive after overcoming struggles with substance abuse.

Savannah Hacker entered the Speranza House in 2023, which is a women’s faith-based sober living home in Greensburg.

Hacker graduated from the Speranza House program and has flourished ever since. She is also involved in Decatur County’s Wellness Court.

She has been employed full-time as a second shift associate at the same job for nearly two years.

Savannah is also taking classes to receive her high school equivalency diploma.

“And the greatest accomplishment we would like to share with you is that Savannah has been clean and sober for 13 months,” said Speranza House Co-Director Jeanne Wiseman.

Hacker has just reached another milestone by receiving her driver’s license for the first time ever!

“She has worked so hard to overcome obstacles and barriers to achieve this, and we couldn’t be more proud. Because she chose us to walk alongside her in recovery, we get to celebrate these victories with her—and what a celebration this is,” Wiseman said.

Congratulations, Savannah and we are proud of your accomplishments. You are an inspiration to many!!
