High School football sectional recap and preview

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Several local teams advanced during the Sectional Semi-Final round on Friday, October 31. 

Here are the results and is ahead:

Class 1A Football 

A rematch of rivals will take place this Friday. 

Milan cruised to a 56-14 win over Eastern Greene and North Decatur easily handled Knightstown 31-18. 

Milan will now host North Decatur for a Sectional Championship this coming Friday. It is a repeat of last year’s Sectional title game where the Indians narrowly beat North Decatur. 

Class 2A Football 

Switzerland County is continuing their successful season as they defeated Clarksville 56-20 at home on Friday. 

The 8-2 Pacers will have a big test ahead as they will travel to 11-0 Brownstown Central on Friday, November 7.

Class 3A Football 

After nearly going winless the past two seasons, the Greensburg Pirates continued their resurgence with an upset victory on Friday. 

The Pirates topped South Dearborn 23-14 to earn a trip to the Sectional Championship. 

Meanwhile, the 9-1 Lawrenceburg Tigers beat Franklin County 48-27 in Brookville on Friday.

Coming up, Greensburg will host Lawrenceburg for the Sectional 30 Championship on Friday.

Class 5A Football

East Central hosted Franklin for their first Sectional game on Friday and the Trojans won 21-7.

The 8-2 Trojans will travel to 9-2 Whiteland for a Sectional Semi-Final matchup on November 7.
