(MARION, Ind.) – A Ripley County native was an integral part of the 1975 Marion College baseball team.
Barry Lauber and his teammates will be inducted into the Indiana Wesleyan University Athletic Hall of Honor on September 6.
Lauber led the team in home runs as they earned their first conference championship 50 years ago.
“Together, this group laid the groundwork for decades of baseball excellence at Indiana Wesleyan, leaving a lasting impression on the field and in the record books,” the university said.
After college, Lauber returned back home and worked at Southeast Indiana REMC and retired after 44 years. He has held roles on many boards including the South Ripley School Board, Ripley County Economic Development, SEI READI and President of Ripley County Redevelopment Commission.
