"We have the flexibility to produce products in each region"

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- Honda is responding after a report that the company plans to move upcoming production of its next generation Civic from Mexico to Indiana.
The Reuters report on Monday said the move is in response to possible U.S tariffs on Mexico and Canada.
Honda provided the following statement to The 812:
"Honda has made no such announcement and will not comment on this report. The Honda Civic has been made in our Indiana Auto Plant since the facility opened in 2008 based on our longstanding approach to build products close to the customer. We have the flexibility to produce products in each region based on customer needs and market conditions.”
Honda Manufacturing of Indiana is based in Greensburg but the local plant was not specifically named in the report.
