(NEW ORLEANS) – Tickets to the very first Super Bowl in 1967 were around $12 a piece, which is equivalent to about $112 today with inflation.
The average ticket cost rose to $75 in 1987 and tickets began to significantly increase in 1996 when the average cost was $275.
The Super Bowl in 2009 marked the first time that the average cost reached $1,000. That price would double to $2K in 2015.
