How much it costs to attend the Super Bowl

The first Super Bowl had ticket price of $12

(NEW ORLEANS) – Tickets to the very first Super Bowl in 1967 were around $12 a piece, which is equivalent to about $112 today with inflation. 


The average ticket cost rose to $75 in 1987 and tickets began to significantly increase in 1996 when the average cost was $275. 


The Super Bowl in 2009 marked the first time that the average cost reached $1,000. That price would double to $2K in 2015. 


Want to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans this weekend? The average ticket price is around $8,070 as of now. 


The cheapest ticket on Ticketmaster to get in the door is $3,895, but you will be sitting in the nosebleeds.


If you want a good seat to the game there are plenty of options on Ticketmaster, ranging from $15,000 to $45,000.


The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will play in the Super Bowl this Sunday.
