“We are thrilled to welcome Jillian, Lisa, and Trisha to our board."

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Kids Discovery Factory (KDF) in Batesville has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors.

KDF is a hands-on children’s museum dedicated to inspiring young learners through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) education.

Serving southeastern Indiana, the organization offers interactive exhibits, educational programs, and community outreach to foster creativity, problem-solving, and lifelong learning.

Jillian Freese joins the board with 8 years of experience in human resources. KDF says Freese is passionate about STEAM education and plans to leverage her HR experience to help with the growth of the organization.

Lisa Deck brings 33 years of experience in workforce development and education. As the Education Workforce Program Manager for Purdue Polytechnic’s Indiana Next Generation Manufacturing Competitiveness Center (IN-MaC), Lisa collaborates with employers, schools, and students to develop sustainable workforce programs. She has also been an adjunct professor at Purdue University since 2009, specializing in Organizational Leadership and Technology Leadership and Innovation. With a background in manufacturing and human resources, Lisa is committed to equipping future generations with the skills they need for career success.

Trisha Goldsmith is an Educational Consultant at Sunman Dearborn Community Schools, with a distinguished career in special education. She previously served with the Ripley-Ohio-Dearborn (ROD) Special Education Cooperative and as a special education teacher at Batesville Community School Corporation. Trisha holds multiple degrees in education and administration, including a Director of Exceptional Needs license, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Special Education. She resides in Batesville with her husband and children and is eager to contribute her expertise to the Kids Discovery Factory board.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jillian, Lisa, and Trisha to our board,” said Daryl Werner, Board President. “Their diverse backgrounds and shared passion for education and workforce development will play a key role in advancing our mission. We look forward to their contributions as we continue to grow and impact children across southeastern Indiana.”

Kids Discovery Factory remains committed to providing engaging, hands-on STEAM experiences for children and families. The addition of these new board members will further enhance the organization’s ability to serve the community, expand its innovative programming, and become a thriving downtown location for families to visit.
