(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – Zayden Jameson and Brady Gabbard were inseparable while growing up in Lawrenceburg.
“They were together all the time,” recalls Brady’s mom, Jennifer Gabbard.
Zayden and Brady were together when they suited up for their first youth football game.
That friendship evolved into youth baseball as well as other hobbies including fishing and video games.
“They spent the more recent years just going to the races at Lawrenceburg Speedway and just being kids,” Jennifer mentioned.
Everything changed when 14-year-old Brady Gabbard was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer during the summer of 2021.
Brady passed away just two weeks later on July 2, 2021.
The impact Brady had on Zayden was never forgotten and it won’t be anytime soon.
Zayden is now 19-years-old and earlier this year he received life-changing news: His girlfriend, Lilly, was pregnant.
On Tuesday, Zayden and Lilly welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world.
Zayden and Lily named their baby boy: Brady.
“His name lives on because his love never left, it means a lot to me because he thought that much of Brady and their friendship,” Jennifer said.
“It means that the bond between them didn’t end, it simply found a new beginning,” she added.
Brady Gabbard wore #28 for the Lawrenceburg High School football team. How ironic that the new baby was born on the 28th of this month.
