(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA) is awarding tax credits for the development of new senior affordable housing in Lawrenceburg.
Lawrenceburg City Councilmember Dylan Liddle says the project at Durbin Plaza on West Tate Street will bring 52 total units of age-restricted housing for seniors and represents a $15.7 million investment in Lawrenceburg’s future.
“This investment will cost the City of Lawrenceburg nearly nothing except providing the lot, and by leveraging grants and tax credit programs made available through IHCDA and the Statehouse, we are delivering real results for our residents without raising costs on them," he said.
The investment will revitalize an underused property, provide stability for aging residents and improve walkability.
“This is exactly the type of smart, people-focused investment our residents deserve — one that meets community needs, strengthens our neighborhoods, and does it in a fiscally responsible way," he said.
Liddle added, “I want to give a huge shout-out to everyone who helped make this happen — my fellow council members, the Mayor, and our incredible city staff.”
