(BROOKVILLE, Ind. )-- There is a unique club in each community in our area that is accepting new members.
Each American Legion Post has an opportunity for those who didn’t serve in the military to join.
The Sons of American Legion (SAL) is for males whose parent or grandparent served in the military.
Ken Jones of Brookville serves as the SAL District Commander for our area.
“We’ve been able to help out at the Indiana Veterans’ Home and other initiatives. I definitely enjoy being able to help out and supporting the community,” Jones said.
Since 1988, SAL has raised more than $9 million for The American Legion Child Welfare Foundation and have volunteered countless hours at veterans hospitals. The SAL also supports the Citizens Flag Alliance, a coalition dedicated to protecting the U.S. flag from desecration through a constitutional amendment.
Curious about joining SAL? Visit your local Legion Post who will assist with additional questions and an application.
