(EVERTON, Ind.) – A local boy got quite the surprise in the mailbox this week!
9-year-old Kaidyn Wright is a fourth grader who attends Everton Elementary School.
His uncle recently shared a story about how he sent a letter to a former president one time and that inspired Kaidyn to do the same.
Kaidyn wrote a letter to President Donald Trump where he talked about his family and also how they support the president for what he's done for the nation.
Kaidyn ran out to the mailbox on Wednesday and found a letter that was from The White House.
“I waited for weeks, checking the mail everyday,” he told The 812. “I never thought I would get a response so this makes me feel really good and thought of.”
President Trump’s letter showed appreciation for Kaidyn’s support and also congratulated him on what he has achieved in his young life.
“Always remember that you are surrounded by people who love and care about you. Stand strong in your beliefs and tough in your defense of the values that make our Nation great,” the letter stated.
What does Kaidyn want to do when he grows up? He wants to serve others:
“I love police officers and I love my family. I dream to be a K-9 officer in Cincinnati when I grow up,” he said.
Here is what Kaidyn recieved yesterday:
