(WEST HARRISON, Ind.) – Kimberly Hill is with the Indiana State Police and is hoping more people learn the signs of human trafficking.
She has worked for 29 years in the ISP’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement unit and knows the signs to look for.
Hill is also a member of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) who is conducting a Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative in the United States, Mexico and Canada this month.
The ISP has partnered with the CVSA this week and are distributing outreach materials to truck drivers while conducting commercial motor vehicle inspections.
There are more than 25 million victims of human trafficking worldwide and some of those could be transported right through our area.
Hill wants truck drivers as well as the general public to know some of the signs, and encourages you to call 9-1-1 if you report something suspicious.
